About me

Hi! I’m Sam. I’m a boom operator and sound technician.

I’ve been working on film productions for more than ten years. I’ve worked on films and series including The Brutalist, Natural Light, Rise of the Raven and Captives. Through my work, I’ve learned how to record the human voice naturally and clearly, while being as unobtrusive as possible.

Filmmaking often means rushing, making compromises and working against the clock. Picture comes first; sound comes second (or third). I prefer recording meaningful sound in a calm environment.

I have two sons, and I read them stories all the time. That’s where the idea for Mesebefőtt came from. How much nicer is it to hear our favourite stories told by a parent or grandparent – even when they can’t be there with us?

You don’t need to come to a studio. I come to you with my equipment, and we make the recording at home, in familiar surroundings.

There’s no big crew, no room full of equipment, no distracting lights or cameras. Just me. I listen, and I record your story.

Afterwards, I carefully edit and clean up the recording, so your story is there whenever you want to hear that familiar voice again.
